The accident occurred in the Bogenhausen district of Munich during the early hours of Friday. According to a spokesperson for the Munich Fire Department, emergency responders discovered the injured 20-year-old woman at around 2 a.m. on the roof of a nearby daycare facility after receiving an emergency call.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the woman, accompanied by a male companion, had attempted to climb the construction crane. According to the companion’s account, the woman suddenly lost her grip while holding onto the crane’s jib. She fell approximately 15 meters and landed on the flat roof of the adjacent daycare center.
Rescue Operation Proved Difficult for Emergency Services
Rescuers faced challenges reaching the accident site, as they had to make their way through thick shrubbery to access the daycare building. Using portable ladders, they eventually reached the injured woman on the flat roof, which was about five meters high. There, paramedics provided emergency medical treatment before safely lowering her to the ground with the help of a turntable ladder.
Due to the severity of her injuries, the woman was immediately transported to the trauma unit of a Munich hospital. No further details about her current condition were initially available. The entire rescue operation lasted approximately one hour.
