The city’s waste management company, Abfallwirtschaftsbetrieb München (AWM), has announced adjustments to garbage collection due to upcoming public holidays.
Three Collection Dates Affected by Holiday Schedule
According to AWM, waste pickup will be rescheduled on three key dates, impacting many households across Munich.
The regular collection scheduled for Pentecost Monday, June 9, will take place earlier than usual—on Saturday, June 7.
Meanwhile, the service originally planned for Thursday, June 19, which coincides with the Feast of Corpus Christi, will be delayed by one day and carried out on Friday, June 20.
As a result of this change, Friday’s standard collection will also be pushed to the following day, Saturday, June 21.
AWM Encourages Residents to Prepare Accordingly
AWM is asking the public for understanding and cooperation in light of these schedule adjustments. Residents are urged to place their bins out in time for the revised pickup dates.
For more details, citizens can contact AWM’s customer service line at 233-96200 or consult the digital waste collection calendar available on the agency’s website.
The revised schedule is intended to ensure uninterrupted waste removal services throughout the holiday period.
