This past Sunday, May 10, the Tourism Union officially presented the event calendar, spanning from mid-June to mid-August. For connoisseurs of local culture and quality leisure, this is the signal: it is time to plan trips, as the first festival starts in just a few weeks.
The series of festivities in Kreuth will be opened on June 12 and 13 by the FC Real Kreuth football club. Just a week later, the Bad Wiessee Sports Union will pick up the baton. The culmination of the June program will be the celebration of the Tegernsee Mountain Rifle Company, which traditionally begins with a ceremonial field mass in picturesque Enterrottach. A total of 12 large-scale festivals are planned this season, taking place in the communities of Kreuth, Bad Wiessee, Tegernsee, Rottach-Egern, and Ostin.
July Will Be the Peak of the Forest Festival Season
Mid-summer promises to be the most event-filled period. In early July, the ski clubs of Bad Wiessee and Kreuth will host guests. However, the largest event of the month will be the “Day of Associations,” held from July 17 to 19. In the square in front of the majestic Tegernsee Castle, several organizations will join forces: the ski, skating, and cycling clubs, as well as the gymnastics and volleyball societies.
Organizers emphasize that in addition to gastronomic classics — the famous roasted chicken and spit-roasted fish — guests can expect a large bar and an expanded entertainment program. Given the capricious mountain climate, backup days have been provided for key dates. For instance, if weather interferes with the Bad Wiessee Sports Union holiday, it will be moved to July 10 and 11, ensuring that residents and the 1,000 expected tourists do not miss out on the celebration.

Calendar Changes Due to Roadworks
Despite the dense schedule, this year was not without adjustments. The holiday planned for July 28 in the town of Tegernsee itself has been canceled for technical reasons. City authorities have initiated urgent bridge repairs, resulting in the complete closure of a key transport artery.
This will create certain difficulties for regional residents and tourists. The community decided to combine the roadworks with flood protection system updates and water network modernization. Consequently, through-traffic across the bridge will be impossible, and the route to Rottach-Egern will have to be diverted via the opposite shore of the lake.Additional logistical hurdles will affect Munich residents. From June 1 to June 13, the railway section between Gmund and Tegernsee will be closed for reconstruction. Passengers will be offered rail replacement buses or can choose to travel to Kreuth by bicycle, which perfectly fits the spirit of active summer recreation in the valley.
