In Bavaria, the weather over the coming days will bring summery temperatures. The week will start mostly sunny with highs of up to 24 degrees, as reported by the German Weather Service (DWD). The forecast for the following days remains similar: lots of sunshine, slight cloud cover, and rising temperatures. On Thursday, May 1st, temperatures could even climb to 28 degrees.
Lots of Sunshine and Thunderstorms
In the afternoons and evenings over the coming days, showers are possible, particularly in the pre-Alpine region. In the Alps and low mountain ranges, thunderstorms can also occur. This applies especially to the second half of the day on the public holiday.
“The spring weather is reaching its peak over the next few days,” says meteorologist Adrian Leyser from the German Weather Service, referring to the weather across Germany. He points out the low but notable risk of showers and thunderstorms, which should be considered when planning longer outdoor activities. Along the Rhine, temperatures might even approach the 30-degree mark on May 1st, according to Leyser.
Weather Situation Will Change Starting Friday
“Starting Friday, the weather situation will begin to change,” Leyser explains further. A cold front will first bring more showers and thunderstorms to northern Germany, followed by a noticeable cooling. In the south, it will stay mild a bit longer, but even there, the temperature trend will clearly start to drop over the upcoming weekend. “This little early-summer intermezzo will thus come to a sudden end,” Leyser says.
