Entrance to Südwesttangente in Nuremberg to Close for Several Months Due to Port Bridge Construction

Construction work on the new port bridge in Nuremberg continues. Due to the need to expand the workspace, a multi-month traffic restriction is being introduced in the direction of the town of Feucht.

In connection with the construction of the new port bridge in Nuremberg, restrictions are regularly implemented. As representatives of the city authorities explained in an official announcement, the project is moving forward. Nevertheless, major construction work was once again required in the Hafenstraße / Finkenbrunn section. The notice clarified that to complete the creation of a temporary bypass, an additional retaining wall must be erected along the Südwesttangente.

The Nuremberg Service for Public Space (Sör) required more space in the work area, leading to the closure of the entrance ramp to the A73 autobahn at the Nürnberg-Hafen-Ost junction in the direction of Feucht. This involves a total cessation of traffic, which will begin on Monday, February 16, and is projected to last until the temporary bypass is put into operation in September of this year.

Multi-Month Diversion on the A73 Autobahn

Signposted diversion routes have been prepared for road users, leading via Hafenstraße, Frankenschnellweg, Wiener Straße, and Marthaweg to the Nürnberg-Hafen-Süd junction.

According to information from the city authorities, parking spaces at the Europakai parking lot have also been temporarily eliminated due to the construction; however, access to the ship pier remains available.

Officials Request Understanding Regarding Restrictions

In connection with the measures, Sör representatives asked motorists to exercise patience and, above all, to show understanding regarding the unavoidable restrictions. Furthermore, those responsible urged drivers to be particularly attentive and to practice mutual courtesy within the construction zone.
