A staff member discovered an American serviceman, dressed only in underwear and athletic leggings, inside an unoccupied room.
The woman was about to distribute breakfast to the residents when she stumbled upon the unexpected guest. According to police reports, the man was heavily intoxicated. Preliminary findings suggest he slipped into the building unnoticed during a staff shift change.
Investigation into Potential License Plate Theft
The serviceman was unable to explain to law enforcement how he entered the nursing home or the whereabouts of the rest of his clothing. Due to his condition, police took him into custody.
This event may be linked to a report of license plate theft received shortly before the discovery. A suspicious individual, also dressed only in leggings, was spotted near the facility. Police are currently investigating whether both reports involve the same man.
The Grafenwöhr US Training Area
The Grafenwöhr Training Area plays a central role in the US military presence in Germany and Europe. Located in northern Upper Palatinate, it covers approximately 230 square kilometers, making it the largest military training ground in Europe. The territory is managed by the US Army under the “U.S. Army Garrison Bavaria” structure.
Established in 1910, the training area has a rich history. Following World War II, US forces occupied and systematically expanded the site. Today, Grafenwöhr serves as the primary training center for US troops and NATO allied forces, regularly hosting international maneuvers involving military personnel from numerous nations.
